Hi Veevs! Just checking out your blog. I don't have one, but have decided I better keep up with everyone! Think I better leave it to the weekend (I get the feeling it is going to take a long time LOL). I'll put you in my favourites! Carol :-)
Veevs, Congrats on jumping onto the Blog Bandwagon! I know you asked for advice on what to do with it, and my suggestion is to just play around with it. Check out the features. There's a page that you can add an element and from there you can add lists and pictures and other website/blog links that will show up in your sidebar. (on the side of the blog).
When you go looking at other blogs, you'll see what I am talking about.
Hey Veevs! Congrats on starting a blog! My advice is to play around with it and see what each feature does. When you check out other blogs you'll see things you like and don't like. Then play with your elements page (where you can add a link/picture/etc) to see what things you'd like on the side of your blog (called a sidebar).
woohoo! You did it! Glad you put your toes in the water.
I've been blogging for a couple of years, on Blogger, so holler if you need anything! Although I've neglected updates to my sidebars of late, although in the case of my Piebolar blog, it's because I'm settling on a new layout for it, which will require some work first.
Oh, I recommend using a feed reader, like google reader or bloglines, to keep track of friends' blogs (I'll be making a category for classmates!)
I also recommend a site called cocomment. It helps you keep track of all the conversations going, between where you've left comments on others' blogs.
Blogger recently introduced a thingie to email you if you check a box when commenting, when there's new comments to that post, but of course that's only helpful for blogspot/blogger blogs.
I'm sarebear62 (i think) on cocomment, if any of you want to add me as a contact there!
A feed reader, and cocomment, are the two best tools I've found to save ALOT of time and/or make interacting with online friends/blogfriends/blogconversations easier!
